Rice cereal FAIL

So today we attempted to give Little Sir some rice cereal. He was NOT a fan. I have NEVER seen the faces he was making!!! I guess I always thought that expressions of disgust and horror were something that maybe we learned from our social interactions and later replicate, but as far as I know Little Sir has never observed someone be disgusted and horrified...yet here he is, perfectly expressing those emotions toward rice cereal.
Wow, he totally hated it.
I mean, it was kind of funny, really!
Here is the video - I uploaded it in it's full size so if you have a slow internet connection you'll have to wait for a while for the whole thing, but it is worth it!

I guess after this experience we will either need to try a different brand of rice cereal or maybe some oat cereal? Can we do that? I will have to look that up on the internets.

When Ian heard Christan, he started laughing. Also Ian didn't like it the first time either, just keep trying or go with baby oatmeal.

His eyes! He's like: WHY ARE YOU BETRAYING ME, MOM???

So cute. We're giving Rayah her first sample this weekend!

I love when he shudders at about 2:00. That's hilarious!!

And yeah, I think it's a "wive's tale" that cereal/food makes them sleep longer or through the night. Truly, I think it just depends on the baby. Both of my boys did and one was a formula baby and the other breastfed. So...

Just keep trying - don't give up yet. People always told me that and a lot of times, it is right. Just because a baby doesn't like something the first time doesn't really mean anything. It takes a few tries sometime for them to get used to a new food. Just a thought.

Andrew did the same thing. This is something completely different for him, so it will take a while for him to get used to it. Make it REALLY liquidy at first. And then just keep practicing. It's not nutritionally necessary yet, so you have plenty of time to practice.
