I had to learn a swaddling technique from a nurse friend. Will did the same thing with his wild arms and would wake himself up. I take one blanket and fold it long-ways in 4&#39;s. And I wrap that around Will&#39;s arms...so he has it just around his arms and toro. I wrap it fairly tight so he can&#39;t move them. Then I take another blanket and do a regular swaddle over the whole thing. He slept much better after getting him snug! <br /><br />So good to see you Thurs! Each week gets better...those first several are tough! Rayah isn&#39;t swaddled anymore - she is also a houdini. She escaped both that you mentioned, as well as the miracle blanket, regardless of how tightly she was wrapped. (Though the miracle blanket was by far my favorite, because it kept her arms AND legs from flailing around.) His pics are too adorable.<br /><br />For the swaddling, have you tried the SwaddleDesigns blankets? They&#39;re much bigger and were the only ones Sophia couldn&#39;t escape from. They sell them at Dillards (kinda expensive), but you can order them for alot cheaper at www.mom4life.com. Also, if you want to keep the door to his room open, you could try a crib tent to keep the cats out.
